Here is a set up that I was just mucking around with just to get an idea. But I thought this would be to hard and thought ill make something with the bottom half of the DBM. Im currently in the process of sketching it all up just to see the basic idea. I have some ideas in my head, just little hard trying to get it on paper.
Attachment: If any one would like to give me tips, it will be more that welcome I tried searching stuff but it seems the search isn’t working or something. Ill try and post up the idea/pick that I think will work the most just going to take some time. Well what do u all think about this first picture? I still need to find a way to use the sensors so it will still work with the original ECU, oh and if anyone has any guess to how much KW’s this will produce im saying no less than an extra 5 maybe even 10, ive only got extractors so I guess it all depends on how much mods u have. Well I would like to here what u think about it. thanks! |

honestly without thousands already spent on the engine i wouldn't predict anymore than 0kw gain, even perhaps a reduction of drivability with stock ecu.
i went through a stage of wanting to run dual sc-24's through dual throttle bodies off a stock ecu, till i woke up and now i'm going twin turbo with dual throts and aftermarket ecu, simply coz i can and it's different(well it was) and i also think a twin turbo setup would be alot easier to fab manifolds etc.. big question is sequential or parallel ? but with dual throtts your pretty much limited to paralell unless you crate some elaborate pre-plenum but for a stock application i wouldn't imagine it would 'unlock' any power at all. you need power to unlock before you can unlock it.....

yeah sorry about the pick, i had all these arrows and all but it didnt work on here. anyway i dont really mind on if it makes anymore power, its more of a 'see if i can do it and make it work' kind of thing. ive almost done the second plan so ill post that up when its ready, and this time ill put arrows. im getting a second DBM just to muck around with. i think its going to be a good experiment just to see if i can do it.

that one above there is what i had in mind just a little diff. and just use half of the original manifold.

Shum's EL wrote: what about this - I still reckon there would be gains by just having the pod where the battery is on a single throttle body BBM as partly shown in the pic. I have done a few experiments but without relocating the battery, the full benefit hasn't been tested. You might be interested in looking at flow velocity etc with intake bends etc....because I still think from all the tests I have done a sharp bend etc doens't help much airflow into the throttle body and if you were to relocate the battery, shove a pod filter up behind the drivers headlight, heat wrap the intake pipe above the extractors. You will notice a considerable gain in throttle response and acceleration...... I have also found that with a high flow panel filter, in stock EF airbox lid with larger intake snorkel(EL GT). .... will give you a performance gain. Much more then just an open pod filter in the engine bay.

so you want to toss the top half of the bbm and create a custom plenum ? or are you tossing the top bit all together and going with a sidedraft type setup?
