I have got a Black AUXR6 spoiler which needs respraying and am thinking it would be much easier for myself to spray it black rather than trying to colour match it to my silver AUII Forte.
Would it look fugly black on silver, or perhaps work?

Mocked up

boot spoilers might have looked good in the 80's but through evolution, man has evolved over the years and seen that the average car should not be made to look like airplanes

Silver, but only if your going to lower it and put some big rims on it. Otherwise hock it off. Spoilers, hubcaps, and standard height are a no no!

well thats a 66, but yeah.

Seriously though, a bootlip spoiler does wonders for the au, gives it back the nice kick up it needs in the rear, otherwise they always just look like the going down weird in the rear, why the vz sedans rocked in my opinion.

Oh but if you get one, don't lift the bootlid by it, it can have ill effects as my dad found out, lucky we found a new lid cheap.

sell the wing, get $ to throw some super/ultra lows in, will look heaps better (but then again i hate wings, except on that superbird)

or just unscrew your fuel cap cover, and take it and the wing in to get painted.

p.s. wing needs to come back alot, looks odd so far forward.

I realise that its not positioned properly, worked that out after i took the picture and uploaded it, but i couldnt be stuffed going down and getting another one.

btw thanks for the tip with the fuel cap cover, knowing me I wouldn't have thought of that and would have just given them the whole car....

I would do the silver spoiler. I think colour coded looks more subtle :)

I personally dislike spoilers, more so on the AU 'cos of the 'droopyness' on the sides of the spoiler.

If you were to put it on I'd say silver for sure, black makes it look like you've just sticky taped it on.

As for your matching paint, if you guys have 3D Paint stores over there, then they do a standard sized spray can (with a nozzle that's supposed to imitate a spray gun) of paint based on the colour listed on the plate in your engine bay for about $30.

I've used one on my LTD, matched very well.
