Paul,
You are referring to a disc to disc swap aren't you? AFAIK the lower arms are not a problem, a good rule of thumb is to use the upper control arms of the donor model. This can vary though if your car is really low. BenJ almost got away with using EB2 upper arms with an EF diff housing and superlow suspension, only yesterday he realised he still had slight pinion angle problem. I had to use standard EL uppers with my EL XR6 diff fitted to my EB2 in the central hole on superlows. I now have EL XR6 arms, which are very different, to fit to the lowest hole on the EL diff housing to further adjust the pinion angle. The mounting bracket angle[?] and hole positions vary between models. EB2-ED diff assemblies should interchange with no alteration to your present setup. I prefer the EL setup as it presents more possibilities for adjustment with the extra hole and kinked XR6 arms available. I retained the EL disks, calipers and handbrake, modding the h/brake cable was very simple and works a treat. There also seem to be many more low klm EL LSDs available than EF. This old thread of mine may help a little. http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopi ... light=diff Cheers, Mac

Thanks mate is helping alot , bit of info for you , the exact correct angle??
the crank shaft and the diff pinion should be parralell as so the uni's speed up and slow down together for proper operation do you think ford changed the front mount points on the body

Paul,
Sorry I can't help with exact angles, no way to get a true measure at home. I don't think Ford changed the body mount points, I do think they changed the bracket positions on the diff housing. When BenJ and I were measuring up arms between models, all the lowers were the same, only the uppers varied. We didn't measure Fairlanes, AFAIK differences to sedans are elsewhere and don't affect diff. assy. changes. Cheers, Mac

update: well been upside down in multipul wreckers and have worked out a few things,
my 12/94 nc2 has an ef diff from the factory (late model sway bar brackets) the bang ive been getting on hard accceleration is the tail shaft hitting the floor( now fixed by adding a pinion snubber from xr6 to the two holes above the front of the diff ) my ratio is 3:27 , found lots of 3:23 , why would you bother (ford i mean) with such a small change el and au are the only diff with the three top holes cant find complete diff anywhere cheap, so getting gears off ebay and will do the change over myself (ring and pinion)

ok ,changed the diff ,now has the el 3.45 lsd with the watts link hat (20mm lower than std) and the bent el xr6 upper arms , the xr6 pinion snubber is a must other wise you put the tail shaft into the floor under hard accel, handles better not a lot of change in straight line, smoother through corners and no a** skip over bumps eg. train lines with power on.
over all nice change, plus brings supercharger on quicker
