How thick is a standard ford rocker gear shim?

Cheers, so if i have .8mm too much clearance it wouldnt be from lack of shims.
Why would the lifters have .8mm clearance on tdc? The lifters are rock hard and dont compress when you push on them they just open the valves, so i wouldnt think they need to bleed any more but there is still the .8mm clearance? This seems unnormal to me, do the lifters normally take forever to bleed?

there should be zero clearance, im not sure why yours is the case. Have you noticed the same gap with other stock cams?
were you running a regrind before? When you removed one set of shims, are you sure the correct factory shim was left in there? |

Ive gone from running a stock au cam and rocker gear on an au head,to using an ef rocker gear with an el xr6 cam.
I am still just using the single shim that came stock in the ef rocker gear. If i put another shim in there wouldnt be enough clearance so i am fully unsure of why i have this issue. when it is running you can only hear the rattle of the lifters on the valves there is no ticking lifters as such like when you are waiting for them to settle. The spec for lifter to valve clearance is .1mm maximum so .8 is not a good look.
