i have just built a ef falcon speedway car but due to restrictions i have to run a eb 3.9L computer and injection systems. So here are the questions:
1) does the eb 3.9L computer have smartlock?
2) will the 3.9L computer still run the 4.0L engine without rough idle or high emissions
3)is there a way of bypassing the o2 sensor

if anyone has fitted up the wiring and has a wiring diagram of how they got there falcon running it would be excellent.

Ok.
3.9 doesnt have smartlock, yes it will run the 4.0, and yeah you can "bypass" the o2 sensor just by disconnecting it - the ford wont learn anything then. The ford ECU's are very good though and youd be better off with it. b Especially if you want low emissions

I've done this for a speedway car (EB with 4.0L MPEFI) by using my own wiring for fan, fuel pump, O2 sensor, alternator, starter motor & coil (incl dizzy wiring from s/m & coil), and retained the standard injector wiring and wiring for MAP, water and air temp sensors (needed to add a power wire to the injector loom from memory, else keep as standard). I didn't use any standard wiring from the ECU to the dashboard, or anything to the left side of the engine (looking at the engine bay). Recommend you get an EEC-IV pinout list (available from this site) plus dizzy pinouts as references before you start - it definitely helped (this was my first EFI wiring job - previously only done carby speedway cars). I don't have a wiring diagram, but if you pay attention to the pinouts, you should be OK.
