Ok, well, basically take the wheel off for a start .
You need to disconnect the Upper Control Arm to the strut, I think the EL is different to my ED, but you basically have to move that "Vertical thing that holds the Brake Rotor and Wheel" out of the way. Then proceed to take out the bolt that holds the shock in, then move into the bonnet, and undo the 3 bolts that hold the whole Strut in place. Once you have the Strut out of the car, the Spring and Shock thingo, you'll then need an impact wrench to undo that middle bolt that's in the middle of the rubber, and connects the shock to the Strutmount rubber, spring, etc. It might be worth using spring compressor's, because there might be abit of a spring rebound with those low's once you take out that middle bolt. Now, before you take all that rubber off and away from the shock, Take note of how that all goes together!, use a digital camera if you need it to help you memorise how that all goes back together! it took me a few attempts to figure out how that all went back on properly. And more importantly, DON'T FORGET THAT ROUND RUBBER THAT SITS BELOW THE STRUT RUBBER, AND SITS AROUND THE SHOCK ABSORBER ITSELF, it's basically a rubber that cushions the shock over bumps incase the shock bottom's out, you'll see what I mean when you have it off . From there it's just fitting your new springs, and if you really want, you can change the strutmount rubbers aswell to Nolathane, but not too much of a biggy, just makes the car look like it goes fast . You MAY need spring compressors if your changing them by yourself so it helps you get that middle nut back on, again, use your impact wrench to get it on. If you have another person willing to work for you, and you don't have spring compressors, get him to put some of his weight on the spring so you can start that middle nut and screw it home with the impact wrench. You MAY not even need the spring compressor's because the Super Low spring might be short enough that you won't need to have much weight to get that middle nut on. From there it's just putting it back together in reverse order. And don't worry! it's a long post but it cover's everything you need to know, might take you 2-3 hr's if your doing it yourself for the first time, but most importantly, Take your time, and admire your work once you've finished .

Does he have the spring he want's and new shocks to go with them? or just the springs? EDIT: The spring compressor's are only there so that when you take off that Middle nut, that the rubber and it's components don't go fly about's

Warn your mate that he might have a Handling issue, because his going from standard to super low? either way, his lowering it massively, and the Standard Shock might be too long for the spring.
For shock's I would go either Pedder's Comfort Gas or Sports Ryder, I'm personally using Comfort Gas. If his budget can go even further out, use Koni. If his budget can't go far enough to get pedders, get Monroe shocks.

That's something very new to me, although my shocks I bought second hand, my fronts are legal, but just (they don't bounce, but just), and my rear's are tight, either way I might look into that!!!
