I'm just about to put a t5 in my XG. Does anyone know what ecu changes I have to do and where to get it done. I'm in Melb.

manual ECU.

You can wire in resistors from what I heard. I made a thread about it though, got no replies so maybe it's a myth.

Best just to find an ECU.

theres a manual tech doco with pics either in the tech docs section or the tech docs forum, look waaay back, had pics and wire diagrams.

its not a myth as im running it, i just cant remember the wire mods i did as i was ages ago.

im running the auto ECU in my EL, havent done the resistor trick yet, but ive just dropped the idle a bit, and taken the auto trans fuse out, till it gets warm then put it back in so the thermos go on.

I'm selling a 3DAC ECU on eBay if you want a manual computer. It should suit a XG manual with smartlock if that's what you've got.

I'll agree on this. I did the one to my EF almost 3 years ago, and had no issues. I bought an EL ghia that has been converted to manual. It still has a ghia ECU in it. The car would have been converted at least 2 years ago, and it is fine as well.

I think that the EA-ED are different, but here is the link for te EF/EL conversion. In the attached PDF, there is the details of the resistor trick.
