My brakes are about to s**t themselves again, extremely bad shudder and overheating. Last time they did this, ford machined them and said it will happen again, a ford defect and that there was nothing I could do about it. They said heat problems always warp the rotor. But i'm sure from what i've heard that after market would be the next logical step. I was gonna take it into a shop and just get em to do it, but a guy at work who's good with cars said just to buy them and he'll put them in for me. Said to just get a set of rotors, and some good pads. He said the stock calipers are fine to reuse. He mentioned checking on ebay for brembos or DBA's. There isn't much on ebay , however I found this:
It has the model numbers DBA504X and DBA505X. Does this sound right? and is the price decent? also, what should I get in terms of pads? Cheers in advance for any help.

dba slotted front rotors with quality pads made a big difference in my ef..I'd be doing the same in your ba.

nice, i'm glad the difference is noticeable, how come you didn't get back 1's as well? Guessing cause the front cop the most heat? What pads did you use,

the fronts do 70% of the stopping and they were the first to get warped..
When my rears die ill probably end up getting slotted as well as its only about $30 extra each side. I used bendix ultimate pads |

yeah smilie get some DBA SLOTS, they made a huge differance to my cars brakes when i got mine, i got all 4.
from memory i paid $110 a corner, then got lucus (sports? cant remember) pads great bite just masses of dust, every car ive seen with bendex ultimates, has chewed out the rotors. |

Just get the PBR upgrade for it if you want it to stop a lil better

I got DBA 4000 series wiper slotted on the front with EBC Greenstuff pads and its like going from Centrepull brakes on a pushie to discs brakes lol.

It's funny how everyone is saying there's a big difference by just putting slotted rotors and new pads. I went from standard brakes to PBR upgrades which has slotted rotors and braided lines and while it was better I never really found them that much better Since I put Brembo's I've noticed a big change and now I'm pretty happy with my brakes.

I've found pads make a heaps bigger difference then rotor type.
