Or lordy - such a vague question ! What is your budget ? Is dollars your main criteria ? Do you honestly care for rear sound ? A pair of 2 way coaxials would be fine...if you're a bit more picky and don't want any high frequencies ruining your front stage, I would settle for a pair of 2 way splits and run just the mids - brand wise...well start demo-ing !
Budget speakers - I'd look at Jaycar and VDO. Higher End-ish - I'd look at Focal Poly kevlars, pioneer yellow cones and Boston rallys. Steer clear - I'm not a fan of Cadence speakers Hope it helps ! Cheers, Steve |

Im biast as i have these in my car front and rear, they are 6.5" but fit into the existing 6" hole. they are on the top end scale and will set you back around $350.

http://www.jlaudio.com/evolution/VR650CS.html Do you have the rears 'tuned' down a bit to avoid bringing the staging towards the rear ? Always been a fan of JL speakers and subs - I'd recommend them too...but maybe not for rear fill...they're too good for all the way back there Off Topic - Can you fit your factory EL Ghia grilles over the VR650 rears - I suspect the grilles with the 3 threaded long bolts can't match the larger diameter of the speakers ? Thanks & Cheers, Steve |

personally, i reckon rear fill isnt much of a priority if you're running a sub

Yeah very true, if your planning on getting a sub then rear fill isnt all that important, but i guess if you have passengers in the back then i suppose they need a bit of treble.
I have always found that the lastest Alpine Type S coaxials are pretty decent. 6.5' 2 ways 220watt, very good bang for buck to as they cost next to nothing. You can probally get a set for about $110 these days.

Im pretty sure you could slip in 6 x 9 speakers in and If you want a real quality you cant go past the JL 3 way audio range, they are one of the cleanest speakers I have ever heard, they dont throw heaps of bass like other speakers promise, but what you get is a quality sound, I run them in my EB and they fit right in to the parcel tray, no cutting required.

i have them set the same as the front cut off at around 180Hz. the factory ones were crap so i needed rear speakers anyways and decided to match all around. i used the JL grills to match the tweeters and to mount the speakers properly (4 bolts). in time i will spray them the same color as the shelf.

A set of JBL 2 way's would fix your problem! cheap price with a good sound! And you can adjust the tweeder.
