Hey all.
Just throwing a few ideas around and wondering what would be better for a steel tray for a ute, powder coating or spray painting? Mark |

Powder coat for sure.
Paint looks better but you can't use it without scratching it.... powder coat still scratches but no way near as much as paint. |

Haha, funnily enough I'd probably suggest just 2pac, but I guess are you talking about something that your gonna beat the s**t out of, or show car, or just average ute.
My boss said, cheaper to just get it blasted, spray it quickly and be done with it repeat in a couple years, powder coats much stronger but no way bullet proof, and will cost a fair bit to get done, and you will have to get a coater with a big enough setup. etc.

Well i want to put some alloy tool boxes on it and use it a lil for work, and want it to look good. Wont be carrying loads on it all the time and if i do i'd prob put a rubber mat down. Been quoted $1k to get it blasted and sprayed in black at the panel beaters (flat tray, with no sides), will have to get some prices on powder coating.
