In my opinion, stick with the Davies Craig Thermo Switch and relays.

I run an EL ECU with a log manifold, and while it works, the fuel and ignition maps are optomised for a BBM. However, if you plan to do a BBM swap, then go right ahead.

I did try to get the thermos working off the ECU, but could not get it to work. There are other factors, like the A/C setup in the EF/EL which use the ECU and affect how the fans are run. Without all the gear hooked up, you may not get it to work either.

Oh, and as your car is an XR6, you would need to source an XR6 EL ECU to maintain your tickford mapping, and they are pretty hard to come by.

Seriously, there is nothing wrong with using the Davies Craig setup, and in fact there are some advantages to it. Adjustable temp setting of fans, and setting up an overide switch are the main ones.

Cheers
BenJ
