is there any visible oil leaks under the car?
maybe try a thicker oil to keep the oil pressure up. i use penrite HPR30 and i have no problems with pressures

Im really starting to worry about this now. i drove to work this morning (10 min drive) but warmed the car up and the oil pressure moved down when i gave the car a hit but only moved about 3mm. its hanging around the line second from the top of the gauge.

Can anyone shed some light?

Having thick oil isnt recommended for a fairly newish car, im using HPR 15 atm with my XR6 and i hardly use any oil, I have 180,000kms+ on the clock to.

Hope this helps

My Fairmont I6 oil gauge sits just above the mark before maximum. It goes through oil like a Gen3 too but doesn't smoke or have ANY leaks. :?

oil pressure to be sure..Temp fit mech type guage and check, can be done under bonnet. No need to drive it......Often the sender unit or engine earh is bad....
Sometimes engines burn the first 500mil then don't use any more oil...
Compression or leak down test may show whats going on...
