ok after thoughts , just completed a diff change from the org ED LSD 3.27 to a EL lsd 3.45 also changed the upper arms to xr6 bent and mount them in the rear lower holes, pinion angle is spot on , the NC drives smoother , corners better with power on, doesnt skip around over bumps with power on,
but, the first to second shift (with a shift kit) with 8psi of boost was a firm tyre chirping shift, now the change is so voilent the diff bangs hard up under the floor, before i add the pinion snubber the tail shaft hit the tunnel hard, scuff marks to prove it. thoughts please

The only thing I could think of is stiffen the rear shocks and or springs. Mine hits and floor with the street cuts on at the drags, but not that bad. How low is the car? Might need to lift it!

What was your pinoin angle before the diff swap? I'm going to assume that the diff was pointing slightly down as they do when they are lowered. Now that your pinion angle is correct with what you have done, the nose of the diff is higher, hence can hit the floor alot easier.

nc is sitting on std hight pedders springs, might be a little lower than std because of the gas tank, shocks are pedders near new, the diff pinion angle is the same as the ed diff that came out,checked it before and after , parralel with the lower arms, 60-70mm between tail shaft and floor, lower arm bushes new rubber , have got nolathanes on order for the top arms as they came out of a wreck (small hit in front) looked alright, if the tyres let loose , no thump, if they grip as per usual , bang!!!
checking tunnel height to see if different, dont think so but

Did you also fit the bump stop for the diff? If you look under any EL XR you will see a bump stop just above the front of the diff. The part is still available from ford minus the bolts. This will stop the driveshaft hitting the floor under high torque on take off.

yes xr6 bump stop fitted to the floor, dont think its going to last long though

Hmmm i was also going to say check the control arm bushes for wear. For the diff to be winding up enough to slam into the bump stop you have issues! If need be put on the hand brake and get someone to load up the driveline in forward and reverse and see where the movement is.

ok nolathane bushes in the top arms, has helped a little , not quiet as bad , does feel tighter on the road will have try the lowers because i can,
running out of ideas, anybody seen tramp rods for the four link of any kind?????????

Tramp rods won't help, they'll be trying to fight the control arms.
The diff rotates naturally because of the length difference between the upper control arm vs the lower. If you could have a much longer upper control arm you wouldn't get as much. As said by joolz though, there has to be issues with control arm bushes for it to be winding up that much. With fairly low E-Series, superlow height and lower, the tailshaft and diff nose hitting the floorpan is really common, especially in manuals. It's worse when you get more power. You can combat it a bit by using stiffer springs and dampers, but it's a tradeoff for traction really. But if yours isn't that low, basically its either incorrect pinion angle or the control arm bushes are rooted. Having said that, with the extra weight in the rear from gas tank, maybe it does need stiffer springs? Hard to say without seeing/being in the car driving really. Also I've only had experience with the sedans doing it, might be a completely different kettle of fish being LWB with the longer tailshaft?
