i took my ba xr8 into my mechanic on tuesday to get the wheels relined, they have the 2 bolts in the rear near the diff to do the wheel alignment. he seen that one off the nuts had come loose on one of the the ajusters, so he went to undo the nut and it wouldn't move so he went to do it up and snapped the bolt. now we have to drop the hole diff to replace the bolt. who should pay for the hole thing to get done should it be me or him? he's making me pay for it to get done.

I agree, you cant blame him, for if you did the job the bolt wolud probably still have snapped, who would you blame then?
If you cant afford to fix it, do it yourself if you can, then get the alignment.
