I've currently got car on bricks. Getting 3.7's in the back and fixing my preloaded gearbox. Stuffed the tapered bearings. The box is meant to have .001-.002 of clearance in countershaft/input shaft. NO LOAD!!!!! The thing had way to much freeplay last time so I thought I knew better .
Anyhow after this might get into some tuning. If it doesn't run a 13.++ at 100+mph after the gears i'll be damned. The problem with the t5 is first gear 2.95, in an AU3 te50 first gear is 3.3?

Heya Jeff what deck did you end up fitting? I've got my eyes (ears) set on an 9886i for the TE... I'm curious to see how the Alpine decks fit in, and what pocket/plate you used to cover the hole left from the factory setup.

Funy you say that, thats the exact one we bought.
Its got al the fruit iPod cable USB cable, Bluetototh compatible etc, great head unit.
It fits in sweet, only thing is ours sits lower due to Sat Nav so it'd look and fit better into yours IMO.
The pocket was just some cheapo black one that JB's supplied, does the job though and fits well.

Ahh yes its a very nice deck, a good friend of mine has it running a full set of MB Quarts and two 12" subs. Certainly sounds great! Good to hear the JB pockets aren't too bad a fit. The jury is still out on what I'll be doing but I'm still thinking it'd be a great place for a couple of gauges, say maybe nitrous and fuel pressure.... ;)

Okay, things are slowly starting to happen.

Today i pulled the 220kw engine from the AUII XR8 and it is now sitting in my garage awaiting a mild "once over" then to find its new home under the bonnet of the Ghia. With the motor also came the factory 220kw engine oil cooler kit so that will also be going in, although it would be welcome on my ute.....hmmm?

Earlier this week I received in the mail a few goodies courtesy of a forum member .
Firstly a set of brand new Yella Terra 1.72 ratio rockers. Just exactly the same as whats found on the 220 engines. These are obviously going to directly replace the ones that come with the engine, just to be sure.

Also picked up a complete T3 air intake from snorkle to T/B inc K&N filter. So this will be going in which also means a full custom tune will done also, which will be taken care of by Simon @ XFT. I do already have an 80mm genuine T3 MAF here also, so this one will be up for sale if anybody is interested.

Will get some pics up tomorrow arvo.
