I would say taking the pump off would be the ultimate.
If you have a fuel siphon pump that could be good? |

just remember, some EF/EL's have a power steering cooler, you will need to drain that too, one of the easiest ways to drain the cooler, is putting something like a coke can on one side, and blow air into the other side of the cooler to the blow the old steering out ..
Laticia.

i put too much steering fluid in accidently once, so i used a 20ml syringe (the biggest one) you can get em from some chemists, it works well on brake fluid as well, plenty fast but i guess it depends if you want every last drop out or not.

I also need to change the fluid in mine, its just got some no-name power steering brand, last time i drained it, (about 2yrs ago) was making sure the motor was off for a start!! and I un did the return line, and put a mount franklin water bottle under the return line, a fair bit of it drained out, It was almost black!!! and then, keeping the bottle balanced there, turn the steering from side to side, and it pushes out all the fluid.
I cleaned out the P/S cooler by using the air compressor and blowing air though it... Im gonna have to do something real soon, cos my cooler, (its too long bars that go in front of the radiator), has gone all rusty, I don't know how, but the slightest knock and it will prob crack ... I have another cooler, its about the size of a DVD case, and has fins on it, I'll replace my rusty metal on with that one!! Laticia .

If you live at the beach, ( salt air ) that will cause the cooler to go rusty. I would be checking your brake pipes too. Seen this before, cars from the beach area.

Whats a " Breded" brake line????? Do you mean " Braided"???
I meant the steel pipes for the brakes. I have seen them leaking through the rust on them, cars from the beach. And when I checked the addresses of where they lived, it was nearly always " Barlow Hill "...a suburb of Yeppoon.....and when theres really bad weather, the waves actually crash onto the road, and they drive through it.......may as well as drive it on the beach....LOL
