Gday, i got this problem thats been going for a while. When i reverse into my drive way and go from D to N to R when i put it in neutral it revs up to 2500rpm without touchin the pedal, it will stay at that for about 10-15seconds then slowly go back down to about 900rpm then i can put it into reverse. Does anybody know what this could be???

sounds like the idel stepper motor, or what ever it is called, on top of the throttle body. Try winding the idol screw back a 1/2 turn or so. Also take the sensor off and spray some brake clean into it to clean any build up out. It is normal that the revs do that in an auto. Hope this helps

Hope this helps Cheers i have the screw completly backed off not doin anythin, because i have a 68mm its letting in alot more air at idle. Its idling at 900-950 and thats the lowest it will go. I did d/c the stepper motor and it still did the same thing in neutral but in the mornings its an absolute dog to start when that is d/c, so i connected it back up.

gezza i think the problem lies with both the bigger throttle body you fitted, and the lack of tune with the bigger cam youve put in.
sounds like the car might need a tune....... have you checked that the TPS is at the correct voltage with the new TB |
