I have an EL Futura sedan. Now I I have found a rather large split in my booster, so I purchased one from a wreacker out of an EL fairmont that had just come in and booster was fine in that when I checked. Now I have bought it home and colour coded the booster and fitted it to the car

Now when I start my car and try the brakes the pedal goes straight to the floor. If I disconnect the vaccum and pump the brakes they get very hard very quickly. What might my Problem be?

IIRC, Mitch has an answer for this, just have to wait for him to come on

Sounds like maybe you got a bad booster, they are plastic and we used to sell lots of them. They are still available NEW but the price is $270.00 from Ford.

Sounds like the diagphram in the booster you got is just stuffed. Try another booster

place you got the booster from is same place your car should be.... but anywho...

the cars at wreckers nooormally dont run - so unless you tested it brakes as the car was running - highly unlikely - take hte booter back and get a different one - sounds logical to me!
