I think you'll find it more hassle than it's worth as the map/reading lights have a screw in thread. The standard setup covered in http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=24 might be the easiest and best setup - you might be able to find a neon/LED setup as a plugin to replace the 2W wedge globes.
