Hi all,

wanted to pick some brains on this... I have an M90 supercharger on the side of my i6 and when it's in the car I'm hoping for 250rwkw on 11ish PSI... (with all the bits currently on my EA like exhaust, strags, cam etc.)

I'd like to run the thing dual fuel.. most of the time I'd be running gas in the traffic.. but would like to be able to run fuel when needed also.

I'm gonna make use of the government offer to pay for a big chunk of it, so I'll take it over the inspection with the NA motor that is in it now..

my question... what sort of gas system should I be looking for now, that will work for the NA motor that is in there now, but still be extendable to the requirements of a 250kw 11psi boosted motor which will go in almost immediately upon the cars return from the inspection.

thoughts?

an impco system can do that provided that the setup is correct or you could go for somthing along the lines of an LPG injected system that would cope nicely more fine tunable and no restriction in the intake system so more airflow. so really its up to which way ya wanna go and how much your willing to spend on it, because both systems could do a really good job for both power and economy. (as long as it is done right)

Thanks for that..

I'm interested in the DI version... with state and federal grants adding up to 3 grand, I could perhaps be convinced to throw in another for a better setup.

Does the engine require significant mods to run DI? I'm guessing the head needs to come of (or at least the manifold?)

I guess what I'm saying is that the impco is a more or less simple bolt in and wire up conversion.. the DI requires a good bit more work yes?

the wiring and setup for injection is slightly more complicated there gotta have it all right other wise it can cause flat spots, jerking while on light throttle cruise, idle concerns and what not. you really shouldnt need too many mods for it we have done a typhoon 310 and it does 240kw at the treads with no engine mods at all.

I believe LPI only works on cars with sequential injection, whereas the E-series cars run batch fire injection. So unless you are replacing your ecu with one that does sequential injection, it's a no go for LPI.

I think GasResearch is going to be your best option for boosted LPG. EFFalcon is using GRA gear and is getting very good results. GRA gear has to be tuned properly and so far the only place that can really do it properly is Swift Automotive in Dandenong, and they charge accordingly for it too.

the grouped injection on e series is true but a lot of gas injection kits now come out with options according to the type of factory injection sequence the settings can be changed to suit grouped, banked or sequential injection types.

Damn... This is why I asked earlier (another thread) if anyone had converted an E series vehicle to AU I ECU and coilpacks..

my longterm thought was that I could get an AUI ECU running the show, I'd have sequential for benefit in petrol economy and sequential for gas.

Still not heard of anyone that has achieved it though.

I dont know how important it is for LPI but the AU ECU only runs sequential to about 3000rpm if I remember correctly.

I'm fairly sure vct engines are still batch fire above 3000rpm
