Hey peoples.

I just wanted to share with you all, my recent sound install into my Au II ute.

First off i started with the head deck, i went for the alpine cause its the best for running the ipod off. the only downside is that i cant play cds. which doesnt bother me cause i dont use them anymore anyway. behind the head deck, im also running the alpine imprint tune. its not tuned yet, but when it is, it should sound absolutle awesome..

Running the front half i set myself up with a set of Alpine Type R splits. they are 5 and a 1/4 inch splits, but come with a 5x7 mounting plate, so it fits right into the AU. which is good cause the tweeter also fits into the mounting plate, so its all hidden behind the grill.

Running up the rear are a set of cadence 6x9s. the side wall had to be rebuilt and sound proofed cause it was overpowering the fronts. the 6x9s are 2way and directional. i went this so that the speakers were not playing into each other and cancelling each other out.

The sub is just your regular on Type S sub and a box i picked up from strathfield car radios. im working on making a new box which sits lower, so i can hear the rear passenger 6x9. cause the box is currently blocking it.

Powering it all is a Mono block JBL amp running 300rms to power the sub, and a JL Audio GTO amp powering the rest..

it sounds absolutley awesome and clear, and will sound ever better when in imprint is tuned.

i hope you all like it...

the headunit is an Alpine iDA-X200. its a pretty good unit, just takes a bit to get used to..

yeh, the sub goes really hard, i got it set at about 7 of 15. i guess cause its in such a small space it doesn't need to be as loud. its a 300rms amp powering a 300rms sub, so its powered pretty well. in a previous setup, i had the sub behind the seat, and it felt like it was going much harder because you could feel the vibrations better. but where it is, its suiting me fine..

i didnt do it. the installer that works for parramatta JB HIFI did it... he said that he had to rebuild that wall, so im guessing that it was quite thin and had to reinforce it with something.. then he said he had to sound proof it also, cause it was overpowering to fronts...

sorry dude, thats all i was told..
