backfire damage to tmap sensor?
My car back fired to day and after woulds it would not ider right rough on gas fine on petrol go home pulled in to the drive way and put it in park it reeved to 2 k (on petrol) the ics was dirty so i cleaned that and the throttle bode strangly it runs better with the ics desconected what im wondering is the some way to test the tmap sensor is with in spec (have meter) i was thinking that the presser from the back fire may have damaged it i tried useing shearch but that just hurt sorry au2 |

how do u know that it is the tmap that is the problem?
it is an analog output in the 0-5v range

i don't ( i was worried that the large presser of a backfire might of damaged the tmap as i know on industrial presser sensors can be damaged if you put to much presser on them ( ie press to hard on the diaphragm and bend the balance arm))
but after cleaning the ics its good on gas again but its still a little odd on petrol im thinking ics might be sticking shrug it works so ill just drive it cheers info for the 0-5v |

It's more likely that the backfire has split or disconnected a vacuum hose which is causing your issue.
If its running fine on Petrol then it's safe to assume the MAP sensor is fine, as it is highly relied upon for fuel map calculations.
