Hi guys, By the way never posted but read heaps of helpfully tips before installing my system.

I just got it all finished today and it was all working great. After driving around for about 10mins the sound just stopped. Amp is still running just no sound coming from the standard HU. What I dont get is the fronts are running directly off the HU the rears go into the amp via high level inputs. Im also running the Sub off the same inputs through the cross over on the amp. I switch the car off and back on again and the sound comes back then COMPLETELY randomly all sound switches off again after a random period of time....

Can anyone help please??

No the amp remains running ounce the sound has turned off. The front speakers are running off the HU and even they are off. I Have no idea y im having this problem. I'd perfer the amp to have a problem and not the HU.

It seems the HU just stops sending the signal.

Air con and all other electronics work just there is no sound...

Just stops sending sound...

I think I maybe drawing too much power from the HU....

I am using the rear speakers as the line in for both the rear and sub output. I've switched my sub to 2ch so the rears arn't amped anymore to see if that helps the problem.....

to check if they are drawing to much power turn your amp off (disconnect the remote on wire) and see if it cuts out... this help determine which side of the amp the problem is...

My AU Fairmont Series One is similar. After driving sometimes the Whole Right Side of the cars sound system just cuts out.. I cant figure it out.. :?

It only does it on CD though too.
Change to Radio and not a problem... =s

are you running an aftermarket head unit or the stock icc?
if aftermarket check your wiring to the new h/u. if i recall, if your not using the icc, after about 10 minutes you can hear a kind of whirring noise as the cd player and stuff power down. perhaps try turning the icc unit on manually?
