Hi all i just fitted a xr motor in my xh that had factory tickford gas and gas computer,all was well till i changed the motor
i had heaps of problems with the change over,but in the end had it running realy smoth and good idle when fitted with the ef air tubes and box,the trouble then was i could not fit the old gas ring inside the ef gear,so i got el air tubes and the ring fitted realy nice.
now it wont idle on gas or petrol,i took the ring out and on petrol its running fine again
what i am thinking the ring is starving the motor for air now,so how do i try and fix this,would it be timing,{what should the timing be on } if it is an air problem what should i do to chech that.
what ever it is it must just be simple thing cause they are both the same size motor.
Any help with this would be welcome..Brian

all fixed now,it was the timing ,after about 6 goes at setting the timing with the self test on i got it perfect,i had no idea that so little movement on the dizzy would matter so much..anyway all fixed now..brian
