My son who has just moved from holden to the fords banner,he has a question & that is:
The Edelbrock Torker 289 manifold is it a good choice for a 347 stroker engine with cleveland heads with a 650 holley or would a 650 double pump be a beter option: he just brought a 86' xf with running gear already installed but feels the engine has more to give, we both thank u for any advice in this area devondevil |

you will need to find a boss manifold if it has cleveland heads. carby size depends on what cam, max revs and usage(street or track). i would be putting the double pumper on, the 650 vac would be more economical though.

It was cheaper to fit a new C10F than to repair an FMX auto back in the day. I'm not sure on differences between a C4 and a C6. C5's were used in Bronco's. Are you sure it has Clevo heads on the engine???.....post up some pics of the engine.

the c4 / c10 trans would be the way to go. the c6 internals are about 20% bigger than the c4, the c6 also drains 15-20% more power to run. i put c6 into my f100 351c ,went ok. 6 months later i was offered a rebuilt c10, i bought it and it can now smoke the tyres 1st, 2nd, 3rd.

if your going to spend money on getting an auto rebuilt ide be going for the C4, weighs way less than all the others and with todays technoligy they can be built to handle 1000hp all the other box's weigh a tone and are only as strong as the standard they are built to so ide be going the lighter one....
