Just want to know which brake pads you guys recommend for the front of a stock (so I dont need anything crazy, just mainstream) EF 6. Just want something thats not excessively dusty. What have you used and how was it?

Check the thickness of your rotors. EF/EL's ran a softer metal compound on the rotors for better braking. Minimum thickness on a genuine rotor was 22.2mm.
Bendix or Ferodo brake pads are ok. I use Ferodo Zero's, but don't think they make them anymore, I still have spares....LOL

I used to always use Bendix. Now I find.
Bendix = Black wheels (too much dust) Ferodo = much less dust (on my car at the moment) Maxistop Taxi = minimal fade under heavy use, last ages and dont seem to kill rotors. Only problem I found with these pads was they sucked when cold (winter) (my last set of pads)

i dunno i found ferodos to be dusty as shyte, dunno what was on the car before i bought it but they were perfect, stopped well, no squeel and no dust. i've found now that you usually compromise between squeel and dust these days.

I have a set of cheapie Kevlar pads on the front of my XR and they sure do the job and I don't get all that much dust.

My front wheels look way darker then my rear wheels just after a week or 2 of driving. I suggest stock ones would do the best with minimal dust. Or try the lower grade Bendix ones. phong =P~

I didn't know you could buy Ford ones.
I wouldn't mind the dust so much if my wheels were easy to clean, but I hate cleaning them so much! I guess I'll just get some cheap Bendix ones. Everybody seems to agree they are ok. |

I just put the Bendix Ultra Premiums in. Went to SCA, and it was either those for $70, or Ferodos for $40.
I'll let you guys know how I go dust wise. Cheers. |
