One of my dads mates, said he heard that Oran Park Raceway will be getting sold at the end of this year and being demolished and made into a housing estate
Can anyone shed some light on this as this means its the last year for the v8s here and personally going there last year i like the track alot awesome racing there and you can see the whole track.
So anyone know anything????

Have heard, but not sure, that it will be in 5 years, and the owner has already started planning for a new track. New location? haven't heard.

oran park will evenyually dissapear. but not by the end of the year. The land value is worth a lot more than it is bringing in (i think they had a loss last year)
so Oran park will be demolished in the next few years for more housies to move in and bludge off the taxation system :)

also there is a new track being planned for sydney. ive herd thats its gunna be in around the same area as Oran park.

Eastern creek will never be knocked down cause its associated with the NSW govt. ARDC owns the track which is affiliated with CAMS which is associated with the governemnt

*sigh* typical story though...... i reckon if the bathurst council was offered enough money we'd see a resort where the worlds most challenging racetrack stands.....

Yeah its sad that Oran park will cease to operate soon. I heard that this will be its last year of operation. I also heard that the track owner wants to build an identical track on a fresh patch of land so all is not lost. Oran park is one of the best spectator tracks in Australia.

I will second that, from a spectators point of view Eastern Creek is hopeless, there is little to see in the spectator stand compared to nearly seeing everything at Oran Park.

its one of the best tracks for the spectators view. its also a very good track to race on in the good old formula ford.
also wakefield is a great spectator track too.
we should see if we can organise a track day down there on one of their practise days.

Yeah as i said when i went to oran park we could see the whole track and we were at the dogleg there.
And wakefield is an awesome track to go to, but its small, but still awesome when you are on a bend and a car comes straight at you and just misses the wall. We went there for the PROCARS last year.
