my au 6's temperature rises when i give it a boot,
and ends up losing coolant
could this be a buggered water pump?

doubt its the pump as that would insight that the impalla wasnt spinning. pressure cap may have gone to s**t? you sort of need to know were its going before you can really know the diagnosies

the waters not leaking out onto the floor,
so?its going into the engine?

definately try an replacement pressure cap.

had a similar experience and that was the cause. also get your radiator flushed/tested for bloackages or corrosion, as the AU units are made from aluminium and are quite prone to failure after time. If it requires replacement spend the few extra dollars (around 40 when i did mine) and get a brass core radiator.

il replace the pressure cap (Radiator cap)
but what about the temperature going up when i flaw it?

Probably a blown head gasket.

the cap on the overflow unit.

maybe you have a blockage in your radiator, or the thermostat isnt working. the flow isnt there by the sounds of it.

need to get it to a radiator shop, and have them give it a good look over.
