hey guys i have a silly little question i have fitted a snort turbo kit to my ef xr6 and am almost finished i am getting some stainless steel lines made up but i wont get them for a couple of weeks my question is i just got my big exhaust put on and im dying to hear it would it be ok to just start my car on idle with out the oil and water cooler lines hooked up just for a few secs

i figuredif its only idleing for a few seconds it wont heat up enough to cause any damage

imight try and fake it somehow from oil out of a container being gravity fed into it... im bored at home and want to hear my baby for the first time

mate dont do it
its not worth it,
expecially if its the first time the turbo has been run, you will mostly likely cause massive premature failure by binding sh!t up

You must have a pretty good autobarn up there.

Dont forget the usual oil pressure into the turbo is a lot more than gravity pressure.

Do it anyway and let us know how it goes.

ill give it a miss until i get my lines i have my oil feed and drain just not the cooling lines we dont have a auto barn where im from the hose shop here cant make em only in 1/2 inch so they had to get em made in sydney(pretty lame i know) does and one off hand know what size deep socket is used to pull out the oil pressure sender

i couldnt find a socket deep enuf i just used a spanner .

you could hold then wheel in the turbo if u wanted to start it for a few seconds but id prob wait

I tried I couldn't get a spanner on the bastard such little room. Tis basically all I have to do now

1in deep is the right size to remove the Oil pressure sende.
When i replaced the one on my 6, i did it with a spanner, but the motor was half dissasembled at the time. The V8 ones are even worse

i ended up breaking it and getting a new one its about 26 0r 37 ml
