ok, my LSD is gone, it's singling and s**t me up the wall
need to replace it but in doing so i also want something stronger, i've been tempted to go down the lokka route but i think seeing as i do almost 1000K a week ill scrub out tyres way too quick so i need an LSD thats a LOT stronger then a stock one, but is also at a decent price. what brands can i look into? cheers

Its a girls LSD.
There's not a lot you can do with them, up the preload use it... and if its abused it'll last a month.

6000rpm 2nd gear clutch dumps sound like abuse?
there has to be someone who makes a decent LSD center, dont mind paying up to 800-1000$ for it

KAAZ do a centre for the borgy, but think higher then 1k
800-1000 will get you a stock rebuild with new cones and bearings limiter second gear burnouts are fine if it's on an even surface, it's when you have differing traction on each wheel (ie. drifting, big flicks when doing hoops, sideways around corners) that it puts the LS centre under strain. If all you are doing is straightline s**t and you don't want to spend 2k on a diff, get the stocker rebuilt. Another key bit of advice, if it does single, get off it straight away. frankieh wrote: Thats an interesting question... is the XR8 diff any different from the xr6 one? Nope they're not, centrewise, not since EBII anyway (EBI v8s always had 4 pin 28 spline, some EBI 4Ls didn't). Gears differed but thats it.

yeah mate whenever it singles i do get off it because i know what its actually doing inside... maybe its worth going a locker... do strange make a locker to suit the borgy?
KAAZ center it about 1710$....

correct me if im wrong but dont lokka's unlock when no power is being applied like carparks etc, hence why they are better than a spool? or am i wrong here, this is just what ive heard as i was considering one if my LSD ever goes pop.
p.s. do you really need 6000rpm dumps to get them spinning? |

nah i dont need massive rpm to get them spinning, but the more rpm the quicker the smoke gets up and flowing, i have gone through a set of tyres in 2 weeks... don't think i will be spending 300$ on rear tyres again for a while...
yeah lockers unlock, thats why they are better then a spool or welded diff. don't know who else makes a locker center other then Lokka... was hoping strange or someone else would...

If you are doing that many burnouts and dont want to spend big money, neck up and spool it, or calm it down a bit and just get a rebuilt stock LS centre.
