i put an ef auto in to a eb fairmont and now the torque converter won't lock up and if you pull it down a gear with the selector i doesn't change down.

please any one no what is the problem

how hard is it to change the el ecu in to my eb.

inhibitor switch f**k?
Swap the one off your old auto over?

where abouts is the inhibitor switch. what does it look like. how do yo and how hard is it to change.

also can any one tell me what would be making the battery light stay on even if the key is turned off and out of ignition.

this happened after i changed the gear box.

Try disconnecting the wiring on the gearbox and see if the battery light is still on. Not sure is there is a connection but it seems too much of a coincidence. If you disconnect and the battery light is still on, I''d suspect a stuffed diode in your alternator.

thanks tried unplugging the gearbox didn't change it. if i unplug the alternator but that doesn't change it either.....
