I have bought the cruize control from a fairmont to fit on my xr6, but just wanted to see if anyone knows how it is installed. I got it cheap thinking if it suits its awesome, but if not then no worries. Thank you guys1

XR's Have ABS, All ABS EF/EL cars have a 'full' engine bay loom'
IE: your car is prewired with abs, cruise, windscreen washer level float wiring etc.

Blanking plug to be removed from the Cruise loom. (plugs clipped on the drivers under panel near the brake booster)

Cruise control for your vehicle just needs to be bolted in.
Route the activation cable to the throttle body linkage.
Plug in Loom.
Remove bung from brake master cylinder.
Install safety switch in brake master cylinder.
Connect wire (taped to loom below)
Remove airbag.
Replace horn buttons with Cruise buttons and Loom.
Shove your arm behind the fuse panel and feel for a foam covered plug with 2 wires.
If your car is Auto, Short these 2 terminals out. Or plug in the blanking plug (all fairmonts have one)
If your car is manual, Install the Clutch switch (Normally closed when clutch pedal is not used)

Chances are the globe is already in the cluster so you May not have to remove the facia to install the globe.

I've listed manual and Auto to help others.

When I installed cruise in my car, I had troubles finding a clutch switch. I ended up finding a switch from an 80's toyota, it was a round screw in type, it fitted perfectly to the bracket on the ford pedalbox.
I just made a loom for it out of figure 8,
Its very easy to do, just make up something with a NO switch (when NOT in contact)
