I have an Ea Mpfi.
I took the rail and old injectors off quite a while back.
Will be putting some reco injectors in soon.

Couple of questions ....

1. Is it easier to put the injectors in the manifold / head first, then push the rail onto them,
or vice versa ??

2. As I didn't take much notice at the time ....
Does the mounting lug for the dipstick go on top of the mounting bracket of the injector
rail or below ??

I have tried different methods and fitting injectors, and personally i prefer to put them into the rail, and then fit the lot into the manifold.

Be sure to use vasoline or something similar on the o-rings to ensure you dont hurt them in the process. It happens, and fuel goes everywhere.

Dip stick goes on top.
I find puting the injectors on the rain first is alot easyier.

Have to agree. Fit 6 injectors and retaining clips too fuel rail. Check injector alignment with plugs (rotate if required). Push injectors into manifold starting at one end and working towards the other. Fit 4 bolts too manifold making sure dipstick is bolted down with inner forward bolt. Also a bloke on ebay does new ford injectors for $35 ea (no exchange). Just fitted a set too the fairlane and was impressed that they had the same part number as the originals. Phoned Ford and they couldn't get close even with my trade discount.
