so one of the backing plate hex bolts has sheared off?
If so undo the other one, and pull the shaft out. if thats an issue, remove the gear, grind the head right off if there's no way to undo the rooted one, and then pull it out, drill + easyout and or retap.

no not the backing plate, the actual bolt that holds the gear into the front of the block and whatever it drives. the tensioner was done up wrong and snapped a guide and the bolt sheared off the aux shaft letting the gear fly around in there without anything holding it.

yeah the gear opposite the water pump it was just held in by the chain, cant pull it out cause the bolts sheared off in there i presume, you can lever it out through the dizzy-hole? but what if the bolts still in there and just snapped off.

behind the gear, is a oval plate, with 2 hex bolts (which i think your talking about are snapped off)
if they're completely gone, the aux shaft will pull towards you. If theres a little bit left of even burnished to the plate, you should be able to pull it out with force (providing the dizzy/synchronizer is out) Failing that, undo the gear 17mm bolt on the gear itself remove and tackle the aux holder? Don't forget the head of bolts does the work, not the bolt itself?¿ so if its not there. there's minimal holding it.

then you'll need to remove the aux shaft, drill and easyout the broken bolt or replace the shaft itself.
