Ford Programmable J3 chip.
Tuning package to suit EEC-IV and EEC-V Fords anyone tried these there is a guy on ebay who makes them and sells them This tuning package is all you need to get started tuning your EEC powered ford. You can now have the features of an aftermarket tunable EFI engine management system without the price tag and complicated install procedure. How does it work? The Ford ECU has a service port on the bottom of the unit, it is commonly referred to as a J3 port. The J3 port brings out an external connection for the memory bus and was used during manufacture to configure the calibration. We use this port to both download the factory calibration and for the chip connection. The factory calibration is used as a base for tuning and recalibration. Plugging the chip into the J3 service port overrides the internal factory calibration, the calibration on the chip is then used as a calibration instead of the calibration in the internal ROM. The hardware itself supports all EEC equip vehicles from XF to AU and has full 4 bank support. The chip also supports reading the factory ECU calibration. The hardware works in conjunction with TunerPro RT software. All calibration changes are made through TunerPro and then uploaded to the chip. . |
