4.11's + Nitrous+ = one hell of a weapon Just out of interest, what kind of wade grind are you looking at fitting? Id assume you'd be wanting something with big mid-top end power? |

grimketel, it was just going to be a clean up but this is what im on this forum for, info! give me your ideas of oversized pistons etc
KWIKXR its a wade 1636 only because it has a standard stallie and i didnt want to look into computer modifications just yet especially when the old engine was an original 368xxx ks and was getting a bit tired. but yeah worked, nitrous and 4.11s= weapon, thats exactly my aim

Hi mate I have in the shed a freshly honed block bored out 20tho if your interested. Was going to use it for my turbo motor but come across a motor that was to good to refuse. I also have 5 20overtho pistons here to suit in awsome condition the 6th has a tiny crack around the rings . Will also throw in the balanced crank with new bearings already fitted to block in it if you are interested.

well the standard bore x stroke is 92.2mm bore X 99.3mm stroke. which is called undersquare, or longstroke, as the bore is smaller than the length of the stroke. oversquare is the opposite. as a rule of thumb an oversquare engine will tend to make less low down torque than an undersquare engine. an oversquare engine design allows for higher rpm, and a powerband higher in the rev range, as it achieves its volumetric efficiency (VE) later than an undersquare engine.
knowing this, your looking at increasing the bore of each cylinder to bring it closer to being square, and thus increase what rpm it achieves its maximum VE at. this will also increase swept capacity, which too increases power. theres a lot of modifiers but thats the general term of things. i think acl do a 1mm oversize kit. 1mm oversize would mean the engine is now 93.2x99.3. the math says that this engine is now about 4.065 litre but this isnt really much of an increase. 3mm oversize - 95.2: 4.24L 4mm oversize - 96.2: 4.33L 5mm oversize - 97.2: 4.42L etc etc. getting it closer to square will help create more torque up high, resulting in higher HP since HP is a byproduct of torque X revs. as for the pistons themselves you would maybe need custom jobbys? ive never gone anywhere near overbores... edit: the CMS i6 project aims at creating a 4.8ltr i6. using standard stroke this means a bore of 101.2mm, or 9mm overbore. which is as far as joe was willing to even attempt taking the bore out on these motors.
