My ED refuses to start when its warm. Only does it on hot days and when its already been driven earlier. Turn the key and there's no cranking at all. I thought it might be a dodgy starter solenoid and so replaced with a new starter motor but it still has this problem. Battery is new as well, could it possibly be a dodgy starter relay?

Yes it could be the start relay .Is it an auto? you could have a faulty neutral/park switch. You should buy a testlight /multimeter and trace the start circuit. You could have a faulty ignition switch. The list is not quite endless but you should be able to suss it out.Let us know how you get on or if you have more questions.

Cheers Andrew Bit of an update. I've been using the above method reliably for the past month or so whenever the car decided to play up so I guess the culprit has been pinpointed. Next question is, what about a permanent repair? Is it just a matter of replacing the BEM?

My EB was doing the exact same thing and it ended up being a dry joint in the smart lock unit. Not sure if the BEM means the same thing.
