Alternatively you could stick pink fluffy material over the dash. That's not boring either. A bit girly, but not boring. Or paint all the black plastics something other than black. Gunmetal Grey would be good. Or get the stick on Woodgrain Kits? Carbon fibre? Some early EAs had a dark blue interior. You could swap in a dash and console for something different. How about getting the dash pad covered in leather? Mate there are heaps of ideas out there. The main issue, how much can you do yourself vs how much you can pay others to do it for you. Also, subtle is usually a better option than something 'IN YOUR FACE'. My motto is 'Build it for yourself'. Most of the interior mods I do, I try to make it appear as if they could have been that way from factory. BenJ

Wise words from Benj there. I've just been talked into making my shifter shroud and centre console lid cover out of red vinyl, only because they didn't have grey or black and the girls were there. Still iffy about it to be honest, but at least the cars red. To even it up I took all the dash lights out and stained them red a la troyman.

idd say go with subtle more than red's, blues, whites.
i like the boxcar shape but its interior is its biggest letdown. if you have coin, get a smashed EL and start swapping stuff, could even do engine/bbm while your there, but that conversion will eat many many days, depends oin how much you need the car. some more simple things, -say black upper half stock bottom half, i had this for a year most people thought it was stock -el door trims BUT the biggest tip i can give you is "TAKE YOUR TIME" espesially in the pre stages, 9/10 interior recolours go wrong because the owner cut corners, or didnt thing it through. |

I would have to agree with the "taking of time"...
I have done a full interior before and to get it right.... Just took time... if using paint the prep work is going to be the huge thing, the more time you take to prep it the better the finnish... remember the inside of the car gets a hell of a lot of "rub/bump" from everyone that gets into your car... The only way I worked out the colours was talk to some arty friends and asked what 3 colours I should use... 2 major colours and one for highlights. depends how far you want to go too. If you just want a different dash take it to someone and get them to cover it in a dark blue vinal and see if you are happy with it after that...
