Ea fairmont rear bar sits at an angle, one side has a cm gap between bar and rear panels. the other side sits a mm from body!

from the back it slopes down to the left and looks ridiculous!!!

Does anyone know how to fix this up, or maybe even take off the rear bar all together?

The bar has to come off to fix or adjust any brackets. It's held by 4 bolts in the boot floor, and there's a plastic clip next to the wheel arch on either side (no screws to undo). After undoing the bar, slide it backwards. It's better to have someone helping when it comes off & goes back on again.

The brackets may have been by bent by a slight impact (eg. someone reversing into you at the supermarket). You may have to fit it several times if you're making slight adjsutments to the brackets.
