What's the best stuff to wash off the corrosion from the battery + and - terminals?

pour boiling water over it, then sprinkle some baking soda over the corrosion to neutralise it ,leave 5mins and pour more boiling water again. wipe dry and spray some wd or crc spray over it.

Yep, boiling or just warm water to dissolve all the built up acid. I just use a wire brush and then sand the terminals down a bit to make sure it'll contact as best as possible the just put a bit of grease or vaseline all over the outer part of the terminal to stop the acid building up on them. Works a treat

This is what it looks like, i just took photos of the negative lead.
I hope you can see it (it's night here and dark in the garage lol). How do I pull the negative lead off?

Just undo that nut on the terminal. I think it might be a 10mm nut, loosen that, dont take it all the way off, the twist the terminal a bit to free it up and pull it up and it should come straight off.
Also give the battery a good clean with a damp cloth (use warm water) to get all the dirt and s**t off it. Make sure that the + and - posts on the battery are clean as well as cleaning the terminals before you connect it back up, then tighten the nut on the terminal so that it is clamped securely. |

you must also use baking soda. it will act as the base that will neutralize the acid from the battery. If not the terminals might just corrode again in a few months. It really depends on how well you do it with water. But baking soda will be much more effective.
