Well after my mechanical problems the motor is back together and running, I forgot how lumpy and good the CMS3 cam sounds and to drive a manual again. I finished putting all the bits associated with refitting the head at 7pm last night, and just gently drove it the 1/2hr trip home.
Had one little scare when it made a low on oil noise which meant to me removing the rocker cover to check out, but all looked ok so put it back together and continued home no probs.
Have some fine tuning to do tonight with the idle and clutch cable adjustment, then go a few laps round the streets.
The only issue that has arose (never use to) is a lurching motion when slowing down using the gearbox but only when under about 2000rpm.

Yeah I get the same lurch with my T5, goes hard enough for me not to care though

The "lurch" should dissapear after a tune
