hi all,
my original fuel pump cradle had this black rubber/foam type sleeve that the pump sat in too hold it in the cradle nice and tight, was a perfect fit for a walbro pump. does anyone know the bit im talking about? just trying to figure out if my cradle has been modified or if this sleeve is a stock ford part. i forgot to add that this is for the later plastic style cradle not the metal one. thanks heaps.

I have changed a few fuel pumps and some do have the foam boot over them and if the aftermarket one that I fit doesn't have it then I just swap it over.Cheers Kevman

Try a local plumbing supplier, it is called "Armor Flex" they use it to insulate copper refrigeration pipe aswell. you might even score it for free if you are lucky.

If you get desperate, contact CAPA, the fuel pump that they supplied me came with 1, they might be able to supply them seperatelly. Or contact some fuel pump companies like Fuelmiser and ask them.

Other than reducing the noise of the motor through direct contact with metal, I wonder if that boot serves any other purpose.
You might get away with some heatshrink tube and cable ties - they should be okay in petrol. xr6eat 50 wrote: Try a local plumbing supplier, it is called "Armor Flex" they use it to insulate copper refrigeration pipe aswell. you might even score it for free if you are lucky. If this is the stuff I'm thinking of - make sure it won't go to pieces in petrol over time.

If it is Armor Flex it will be fine. It is a foam rubber not a polly foam fuel and oils wont fase it.
