i have ba/bf copies(pre au) im pretty sure they only come in one offset..
they are sitting on my ef fairmont atm.. its got superlows all round, and the rubber is 255 at the rear and 245 at the front.. my question is whats the thinnest i can put on the rims?? would love 225 but i dont no if they would fit... i like the back being fat but i the front rubbs when i full lock the steering wheel and im pretty sure its rubbing the camber aswell

They'd be 8" wide I'm guessing, you could get 225s stretched on them but they probably won't be loadrated high enough, so would be illegal.
You might find some 235s that have a high enough loadrating. Tyre width has nothing to do with camber.

so legally and safely the thinnest i should get is 235???
i just want a thinner tire to stop all possible rubbing.. i dont want to get my gards rolled unless i have to there not terrible atm but there is a few slight rubbing noises here and there when a few people in the car

Yeah but check load ratings on the tyre.
235s are also gonna be more expensive then the 245s cause they aren't as common. It would be alot cheaper to just get your guards rolled...

That guy did a mates VZ, mate reckoned he was real cluey, even cut up some of the rear inner plastics in case my mate ever wanted to fit 20s. Comes to you as well, and guarantees no paint damage. I dunno about the back, depends how low it is and the rim offset. The EF/ELs have that plastic guardliner there as well, I think that will probably rub...

They should only be rubbing on the lip of the guard, if they hit anything else then your copies are fuked and have been made in the wrong offset.
I lipped the guards on my car with a freakin axe handle and a hammer, and didnt even flake the paint! Get all 4 done, as I'd say the back will just clip right at the rear of the lip. |

wel ive pretty much solved the problem by putting my old lows instead of the superlows... not much of a difference.. maybe 1.5cm tops.. rears are fine
pics looks higher then it is.. it tire just in line with the guard sorry for the small image.. had to resize it

You'll still scrub em if you have a car load or hit a serious bump, or if you try to go up a driveway or something with a bit of angle you'll catch the inner lip of the front guard and tear it down.
Trust me, get them lipped. |
