has anyone had the tint removed on their car

i need to have a really dark tint removed from the rear window

is it expensive?

pick at an edge and peel it off, use window cleaner to remove the adhesive left over,can also use eucalyptus oil. are u doing the back window? it will take about an hour to clean the sticky off.

will it damage the demister wires?

I think I was quoted 50 bucks or something when I last looked into it, reminds me on the to do list still.

Supposedly they use hot steam, although I have a suspicion salt water might be effective to, hehe. :lol:

It can be done with windex... that stuff rips through tint and the glue they use. In all honesty if i had the choice again i'd just pay someone, my mate had someone come out to do his and he steamed it and peeled the entire sheet off with little residue... $50 sounds about right for the rear window
