They are 10.7 : 1 comp ratio in a BA, I don't know what that will be in an EF/EL block & head

I didnt think of that, i wonder how much comp you will be left with???

How much piston and rings set u back???

I think they were $660 for the pistons ( comes with gudgeon pins ).
I can't remember what the rings were, they were dear.

The main reason was that you cannot get hi-comp pistons in std from ACL. Only .50mm or 1.0mm.
I want them to be std size and hi-comp. If the block isn't bored, then the integredy of the bore will be better, especially for hi-comp ratios.
I'll be using a customm grind cam, that can use XR6 springs.

uh ok so u just honed it and install BA pistons, didnt think of that

ACL 6MKRY9414S for AU engines is 10.2 comp

http://www.aclperformance.com.au/Ford4. ... istons.htm

i wonder how much more hp/torque and how much more responsiveness the engine will be with abit more comp???

Also if you have a head off the block see if you can get NGK spark plug ZGR6B-11 and Bosch WR8LC and see which plug protrudes more into the combustion camber more.

I have made a thread about this topic and a plug that protrudes more into the combustion camber gets a better burn and inturn engine runs more economical.

Well, the NGK BRE527Y-11 protrudes further than those you mentioned. They are also available in BRE529-11.
The ZGR6B-11 has 1.5mm longer thread.
A similar NGK plug are ZGR4A, 5A & 6A, they have same thread as the BRE527-11.

I'll check them out as i found NGK spark plug ZGR6B-11 is 3-4mm longer than Motorcraft/Denso W16EXR-U
