I allready have a t5 with everything needed 1. Where in perth (south of river) can i get it installed? 2. what price will they charge? 3. What can i do bout ecu. i heard u can modify auto ecu (how do u do it??) or is it worth buying a manual one off the wreckers. 4. where to get short shifters? |

You don't need a manual ECU strictly speaking, you can get away with installing a couple of resistors to trick your existing auto computer into thinking the auto is still there. If you search the forum here you should come up with something detailing what needs to be changed and how to do it, it's a fairly common mod.

ive got an UNtricked ECU in my car.. it drives ok.
not quite sure where you can get it installeD! Look in the yellow pages for independent mechanics and give them a call.... or if ur desperate, im 100 percent positive chris mills performance will do it for you. = expensive tho. try contacting mongrel eb.. he works at walliston wreckers, and he did rob(fastfuturas) install. i think.. might be worth giving him a buzz. Id suggest it would be a day job, probably cost aroune 400 bucks.. Ask him about grinding ur shifter to make it shorter |

No manual ECU is needed, its very easy to mod the auto ECU, I've always run auto ECU in my manual cars, and never had a problem with any of them .

Why not do it yourself, me and a mate did my conversion when we put my tremec into my ef. the biggest problem is moving the dash forward to change pedal box over.

Changing the pedal boxes is not hard, it you do it right! 5-6 screws up the top of the dash, two under each kick panel, two under the radio surround,
drop the steering colum, undo the 5 bolts that sit on the pedal box underneath the dash next to brake pedal, 4 15mm and 1 13mm the lift the dash UP and then out . three bolts up the top of the pedal box .. and remove the pedal box from underneath the dash . |
