I can see some black bits and pieces inside the radiator tank.
What is it? And, how do I clean it out? - is flushing the only method?

Is it liquid or solid particles floating? And, how much of it is there?
It could be oil or rust. A photo might help.

It is solid - is it rust??
I think the whole radiator tank, lower section has it all over.

I just flushed my radiator and found the tank, on the left (thermostat) side, had a lot of rust granules from inside the block.
To begin with, I'd flush the engine with water, remove the radiator and give it a good clean, then put in some new coolant. Depending on the condition of your radiator, it may need to be serviced by a radiator specialist. How long since the coolant was last changed? I change it each year to reduce the effects of corrosion.

Well that changes things.... Based on that, you may have a leak between an oil and water galleries going through the head gasket = head gasket replacement. A pressure test on the radiator will confirm this. Is the oil discoloured at all?

If so;;;;;;;;;;; Did you just buy the car from a yard, should have got a warranty, if so take it back to them and ask them kindly to replace the head gasket etc. If it was a private sale then yeah you have bought a car that hasn't been serviced properly and you have just incurred costs that the previous owner didn't want to pay. live and learn........ Au's shouldn't blow head gaskets if service at correct intervals, only if high km's. cheers..................
