Hi all
Well its my first post and am wondering....

This may have been covered but I have looked and failed to find any non turbo setups.
I am putting an AU engine in to my XG I have everything worked out BUT the intake manifold.
I want to use the BBM.
* But will it fit in this model?
* Will I have to move the radiator header tank?
* And how will I run the intake pipe? Over the rocker cover? Or can I use an EF style intake?

Has any one done this?

Would love to see some pic's
Thanks in Advance.

using an AU engine in a XG has a simply solution whack the motor in and get an EL or XH ECU.

Not that simple, XG's have the header tank on the passenger side firewall with a custom pipe.

But yes, Im sure you can fit it with relocation, altho, the bonnet may not clear?

I think we've had enough Bumps for 1 thread.

I remember reading on here that someone said the BBM wouldn't clear the XG bonnet.
Can't confirm that myself - measurements will be your best bet.

No. BBM will have clearance problems and is the reason the xh kept the log manifold intact (correct me im wrong). I dont frequent 6cyl area but Is there any reason you couldnt use the au engine with the log manifold? Will they bolt up and are there any serious issues in doing this? Why couldnt you use the xg computer if you use the log manifold? Im sure you wont be sacrificing that much hp. You will be improving the xg output by using a serpentine setup alone not to mention better head and cam of the au.
Again Im not sure but I would look at these points first, but IMO you can make any intake work if you are handy, patient and got the $$$.

Thanks mick
The BBM manifold dose fit in to Xh. The atleast some Xr6's Had them also and a Friend has replaced the his log with a BBM in XH. It made a lot of improvement.
I have found a photo of an XE {I think} with one installed would post it but dont know how.

okay then. If it fits xh it because the bonnet is raised and the overflow has been relocated onto drivers side. In an XE the only difference would be the overflow (it has none). If you move the overflow Im sure it will need to remain higher than the height of the head. Due to the air that can become trapped in the head. Now this is something you will need to look into as Ive only been told this when the alloy head on my panno split and we created another passage so it wouldnt happen again.

If you get it to fit I would like to know what you do because I have a BBM sitting in the garage that I never fitted when I did the EL serpentine changeover and will fit if it will.

And I dont discount that the BBM will make improvement I was simply adding that the XG will be drastically improved by adding this engine and accessories over the stock setup you may already have in the xg.

As for photo. goto add attachment at bottom of box when posting reply and go with the flow Im sure you will work it out.
