ive seen a undrivable bad smoke machine toyota completly turned around with flushing c apilarie oil sludge out and giving it a sercive with lucas.
i run pretty much half lucas in my paddok bashers and i cant kill the engines if i try i,e valve bouncing , s**t mitsi's .flat changing,
blowing tyres smokin em up etc they usuall end up on a tow truck with no suspension ,bushes, brakes ,clutch, front bar
with the engine still going good

a whole big bottle of lucas and 5lt 10w oil.
fuchs super gto at the moment i think its a semi syn,
is what i use in my falcons and i drive them pretty hard
although ive never owned a ford that blew smoke lucky me
i do well over a 1000kms a week without dramas and the ticky has 260,000km on it
all pointless info i know but im bored

So, what would a recommendation be for me?

I just redid the head gasket and replaced the valve guide seals and HLAs, new gaskets on all manifolds (VRS gasket set + rubber Valve Cover gasket and AU head gasket), Stag on the exhaust joints to improve the seal and I also replaced the cam (old one had worn through the case hardening). Also used 20W50 oil with new filter and new sparks.

There was no smoke before, just water vapour when first started in morning/cold. Now I am getting some faintly blue smoke until the motor warms up a little, not just a wisp or two, but bloody great clouds with the noxious spell of burning oil.

I don't get it, the compression is good, there are no leaks and no drips.

As I said, any ideas for this to fix?

i just use the nulon engine performance treatment. One bottle with every oil change. its got ptfe which reduces friction and all..you can get a bigger bottle for about $40 bucks but it lasts 80 000km's

are you referring to 3M oil additive? got heard from a friend that this stuff works for him. Btw, I have a plan on trying their cargo liner as well.

I have been using Nulon for about 15 years, and haven't had any probs. Even use it in my motorbikes.
I use Penrite oils and Nulon E20 engine oil additive, G70 gear oil additive, and Nulon grease in the wheel bearings. They all work good, especially if the engines, etc are in good condition to start with.
When I do head gaskets on Falcon OHC engines, or the ol X-flows, all ways clean everything.
