Hey, I have posted before regarding dark smoke on start up and for the first few mins when the engine is cold. I have always thought the rings were worn or something and that they expand abit when the engine is warm. . . (thats the theory I had)
I had LPG professionally fitted for $2000 on the weekend (why not?? its free!) and I have noticed that there is no smoke coming out the back when I start it up on gas. What can you guys suggest? Can it just be as simple as O2 sensor or something like that? Thanks in advance. |

Well, dunno what car you have... lets say its an EF,
Cold start up runs rich, its like a choke. the hego takes around a minute to heat up and start working, You'll always blow black smoke especially if you plant it when its cold. LPG.. well that wont blow smoke at all... lpg burns hot, but clean. meh that'll do

It might be a leaky injector and there might be an a fair bit of petrol already sitting in one of the cyclinders, could be why its a very rich start up.
